Perry residents are reminded that pet licenses are due by the end of this month.
The Perry Parks and Recreation Department advises people that the deadline to obtain or renew your animal licenses is January 31st. There is a $5 late fee for any pets licensed after that date. Any cat or dog over six months old prior to February must have a license if their owners live within Perry city limits. The cost for licenses is $5 for altered animals, and $20 for non-altered. Owners must show proof of rabies vaccination, as well as proof of alteration if applicable.
Additionally, now is also the time to obtain your yearly Dog Park permit. The cost is $20 for a yearlong pass for the first dog, and $10 for additional ones, with a maximum of three. Daily passes are also available for $2 per animal. The dogs must have valid licenses in order to get access to the park, but there are no restrictions on altered or unaltered park visitors. Licenses and Dog Park permits can be purchased at the McCreary Community Building during normal business hours. For more information, stop in or call the rec center at 515-465-5621.
