The Greene County Board of Supervisors met Monday in regular session.

During open forum, County Attorney Thomas Laehn gave an update. His office is currently working on over 60 criminal cases, and he commended the Greene County Sheriff’s Office and the Jefferson Police Department for their work to help with those cases. He mentioned that Court Administration will not provide funds to install bullet-proof glass in his office or the Clerk of Court. Laehn said Court Administration viewed the project as an improvement to the courthouse, so it should be paid by the Supervisors. Laehn will proceed with the project.

The Board then approved the semi-annual county substance abuse report as presented. They also heard a 2021 fiscal year funding request from the Jefferson Area Chamber for $5,000 and didn’t take action on the request. Finally, the Board heard 2021 fiscal year budget proposals from secondary roads, mental health, general assistance, information technology, and drainage. The Board took no action following the proposals.
