Just a week after the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn School Board approved creating the position of principal for the new elementary building in Adel, the District has filled the job.

ADM Superintendent Greg Dufoe announced Monday that current DeSoto Intermediate Principal Jodi Banse was offered the position and has accepted. Banse has been in her present role for the last 12 years, and expressed interest in the principalship at the new building. The new Adel Elementary will house students in grades 2-4, and is set to open in August of 2021. In the meantime, Banse will continue operating as Principal of DeSoto Intermediate School, and the District will look into filling the position she will be vacating.

Dufoe says Banse will bring a lot of experience with her to the new building, and he believes she’s the correct choice to navigate this expansion of the District.
