Both Panorama basketball teams will be back in action tonight after having two games pushed back over the weekend.

Panorama’s Friday night showdown with WCAC foe Des Moines Christian was postponed due to inclement weather. The double-header was officially pushed to be made up  on Thursday, February 6th. The Panthers won’t have to wait long to make up their double-header with Nodaway Valley that was originally slated for Saturday.

Panorama will square off with the Wolverines tonight on the road. The 14th ranked Panorama girl’s team will have their hands full in the first game. The Panthers will try to be only the second team this season to take down Nodaway Valley. The Wolverines come into the matchup with a 10-1 record with that lone blemish coming from #13 Mount Ayr. In Panorama’s last game, the Panthers beat Woodward-Granger to avenge a season-opening loss. Currently Panorama is 9-2 on the season and riding a nine-game winning streak. Panorama has been led by sophomore Payton Beckman and her conference high 20.2 points per game. That mark is also ninth among Class 2A scorers and first among Class 2A sophomores.

The boy’s game is also slated to be a good matchup. Panorama comes in 6-5 through their first 11, but are looking to get back on track after a tough slate, dropping four of their last five after winning five of their first six. Panorama will need a big night from their big three in Malachi Peasley, Zach Rizutti, and Kolby Shackelford who are all averaging double-figures a game. Nodaway Valley is riding a three game winning streak and will try and build on their 7-3 record.

The girl’s game is set to tip off at 6:00 p.m. tonight at Nodaway Valley.
