Dallas County Conservation is hitting the ground running in 2020, and they’ve dubbed it, “The Year of the Volunteer.”
To get things started in their yearlong observance, Conservation will be hosting an event this coming Sunday to celebrate and attract volunteerism. The program will run from 1-3 p.m. on January 26th, and will be held at Forest Park Museum in Perry. Conservation Outreach Coordinator Ken Keffer explains how people can stay involved with their activities. “Really there is something for everyone at the Dallas County Conservation Board, you know? Some programs we need a big push with a lot of folks for a long weekend, others are sort of at your own leisure; you can get involved with some of our natural areas, we do a lot of habitat work. So it takes a little bit of everyone to help us with the organization, and we’re kind of really hoping to capitalize on some great community volunteers in 2020!”
There is no cost to attend the program, but preregistration is required. For more information or to sign up, stop in or call Forest Park at 515-465-3577.
