Weather conditions worsen for parts of the Raccoon Valley Radio listening area.
According to the National Weather Service, Greene County has been upgraded to a blizzard warning, which will remain in effect until 6pm Saturday. Guthrie is now under a winter storm warning, along with Dallas County, until 6pm Saturday. Majority of the snowfall is over with freezing rain coming through the area later this evening and turning back into light snow overnight.
The Iowa Department of Transportation reports, all state roads in Dallas County and most state roads in Guthrie County are completely covered with snow, while all state roads in Greene County are partially covered. Several snow ordinances are in effect, including Jefferson, Perry and Adel.
The National Weather Service says blowing snow will continue to be an issue tonight through tomorrow, with winds gusting as high as 50-miles-per-hour. Blowing and drifting snow could cause white out conditions, especially in the rural areas. The one to count on for winter weather coverage is the Raccoon Valley Radio Network.
