The Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday will be observed on Monday and several offices and businesses in Jefferson will be closed on that day.

The Jefferson City Hall, Jefferson Public Library, Jefferson Post Office and Greene County Extension Office will be closed. Library patrons are reminded that nothing is due to the library when it is closed for a holiday. Due to the holiday on Monday, Jefferson garbage routes will be delayed by one day. Monday routes will be collected on Tuesday. Tuesday’s garbage will be picked up on Wednesday. Wednesday’s routes will be done on Thursday. Garbage routes will then go back to normal schedules the following week.
