A Guthrie Center woman was recently given a deferred judgment for a controlled substance violation.

Court documents show 29-year-old Erica Marie Grove pled guilty to possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, a class C felony; and possession of marijuana, a serious misdemeanor. An entry of judgment and pronouncement of sentence was then deferred for Grove to be placed on three years probation for each offense, to be served concurrently. She must pay at least $2,750 for a civil penalty, surcharges, court costs, and other expenses. A misdemeanor case was also dismissed for Grove who will have to pay court costs. If she satisfies the terms and conditions of her probation upon its completion, Grove’s record will be expunged.

This case stemmed from a January 10, 2019 incident in which a traffic stop was conducted for a broken tail light on a vehicle Grove was a passenger in. A Guthrie County Deputy K-9 was walked around the vehicle during the stop and alerted Deputies to search the vehicle where meth, marijuana, and other paraphernalia were found. Grove admitted to the Deputy that she had been selling meth for the last few weeks to people on gravel roads.
