The Raccoon Valley Radio listening area is bracing for inclement weather that will start tomorrow.

According to the National Weather Service, Greene and Dallas counties will be under a winter storm warning from 9am Friday to 6pm Saturday. Guthrie County will be under a winter weather advisory from 6am Friday to 6pm Saturday. All three counties are expected to get between four and six inches of snowfall, with the majority to happen early to mid-morning Friday. The National Weather Service anticipates snow to turn into freezing rain Friday afternoon into the evening with Greene, Dallas and Guthrie counties could see as much as 0.18 inches of ice.

During the early morning hours of Saturday, winds could gust as high as 52-miles-per-hour in the listening area. The strong winds could cause white out conditions and areas of blowing and drifting snow. Officials urge motorists to slow down and drive to the conditions of the road. The one to count on for severe winter weather coverage is the Raccoon Valley Radio Network.
