We’re already a couple weeks into 2020, but the year 2019 is still likely fresh in most of our minds. In the City of Perry, Mayor John Andorf looks back at a lot of positives from the last calendar year.
Some of the happenings in 2019 that Andorf felt were highlights included: the successful Sesquicentennial Celebration held in concert with the Fourth of July festivities; at least 25 new homes built in the City, tripling the housing market for the third straight year; the growth of industry, including the downtown expansion projects of Progressive Foundry and Wiese Industries, TC&B Corporate Wearables moving into the Industrial Park, and the continued expansion of the Perry Municipal Airport; and the overall revitalization of downtown Perry. Andorf felt growth was the overall theme for the year, and attributed it to the hard work of residents. “2019 was a great year of growth and development for Perry, and that’s going to continue on. It’s a great time to be part of Perry, and for me personally it’s been exciting to be a small part of what’s happened in Perry and being in on what’s going to happen in the future. I’m looking forward to 2020, and hopefully all of you are also!”
