Everyone is invited to a rescheduled award presentation for an individual’s dedication to Greene County sports coverage.

Raccoon Valley Radio’s Doug Reider has been covering Greene County sports for 40 years and is a recipient of the Iowa High School Athletic Directors Association Media Award. Greene County High School Athletic Director Todd Gordon says the award is given to media personalities in Iowa and are nominated by that school district’s AD. Reider talks about the relationship he has with Gordon and how honored he is to get this award.

“Well there are people in our lives that when you first meet them it feels like you’ve known them for a long period of time and Todd is certainly one of those. He’s just tremendous at what he does. He’s a great guy and a tremendous activities director. I’ve really enjoyed my association with him and very appreciative of the nomination.”

Due to inclement weather last week, the award will be presented to Reider at halftime of the home varsity boys basketball game against Gilbert in the middle school gym in Jefferson.
