The Adel City Council will convene Tuesday evening in regular session.
The meeting will start with recognizing Police Officer Bryce Deeth for five years of service, as well as swearing in new officers Mary Peters and Cory Herrmann. Following that, the Council will receive updates on the Kinnick to Raccoon Trail project, and the Adel Partners Chamber of Commerce as a whole. In new business, the Council will consider an engagement with the Ahlers and Cooney Law Firm to prepare related proceedings to extend the Southbridge Urban Renewal and Tax Increment Financing areas into Southbridge plat two, for possible commercial development.
Next, they will set the time and date for a public hearing to rezone a portion of Southbridge plat two along Highway 169 from single family residential – high density (R-1) to highway commercial (C-3). Other items on the agenda include: a City Attorney services engagement agreement with Ahlers and Cooney for 2020-21; an engineering services contract with McClure Engineering for the Southbridge lift station project; the 2020-21 goal setting session report; and a license to utilize public right-of-way for a sign for the Glen-Gery Adel Brick Plant. The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the Council Chambers at Adel City Hall.
