Don’t forget: a candidate for the Democratic nomination for President of the United States will be stopping in Perry Sunday afternoon.

Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar will make her second trip to Dallas County since announcing her bid for the Presidency, though it’s her first visit to Perry. She held a campaign rally in Adel this past July, and has campaigned in Greene and Guthrie counties. Sunday’s meet and greet in Perry will be in the ballroom of Hotel Pattee, with doors opening at 2:30 p.m. and the Senator taking the stage at 3. It’s free to attend and open to the public, and preregistration is not required. However, space is limited, so attendees are encouraged to arrive early.

Klobuchar is one of 14 Democrats vying for the party’s nomination in the June primary election. She will also be the sixth to visit Perry since the beginning of December, preceded by self-help author Marianne Williamson, South Bend, Indiana Mayor Pete Buttegieg, former Vice President Joe Biden, New Jersey Senator Cory Booker, California entrepreneur Andrew Yang. A seventh event, featuring Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, was cancelled due to weather. Each candidate is hoping to emerge victorious in the February 3rd Iowa Caucuses, and blaze a path to becoming the Democratic Presidential nominee.
