Casey and surrounding residents can shake up the doldrums of January at an annual social fundraiser.
The Casey Service Club is hosting Casey’s Winter Party on Saturday, January 18th at the community building. This is the third year of the event, which will be featuring The Backstage Boogie Band from Des Moines. Proceeds will go towards the functions of the club, which serves the community with senior scholarships, downtown beautification, and more. The club has been around for several decades, and member Judi Zimmerline says it’s garnered close friendships for those who seek to better the City, “It’s a wonderful group of people, and actually many of the people that are members of the service club don’t even live within the city limits of Casey. So just people that are just interested in seeing the town grow and improve and have fellowship.”
Zimmerline adds the club meets on the last Monday of each month at 7 p.m. at the community building and newcomers are always welcome. Doors open at 7 p.m. for the winter party with a $10 cover charge. Cash bar and free will donation proceeds will also go to the club, with a complimentary appetizer bar.
