The Dallas Center-Grimes Boys’ Basketball team has been nothing short of impressive through 1/3 of the regular season, so far. DC-G was just 8-14 a year ago, and now the Mustangs have all but tied last season’s win total in just 8 games.
One thing that DC-G Head Coach, Joel Rankin believes has lead to his team’s success this season is their difference in offensive efficiency. One key to offensive efficiency is a high field goal percentage, and the best way to attain a high shooting clip is to get high percentage attempts. DC-G is averaging 65 points per game, and shooting 53% from the field. Only 1 of every 4 Mustangs attempts from the floor comes from deep. Last year, DC-G was firing nearly 40% of their shots from beyond the arc.
Additionally, nearly 70% of DC-G made field goals are also coming off of assists.
DC-G is back Little Hawkeye Conference action on road tomorrow night at Pella Christian.
