The Perry Public Library is frequently updating its technological capabilities to better serve patrons, with the latest addition being wireless printing.
Library Director Mary Murphy says in the past people have come into the library wanting to print documents they received on their phones, which required a longer process to accomplish. With the new system, people can essentially print directly from their phone using a library printer, just by downloading a free phone app called PrinterOn. Murphy says they’ve had a good response so far to the wireless printing, and she encourages people to take advantage of the service. “It’s worked really, really slick. We’ve been waiting and waiting for this wireless printing, because believe it or not, a lot of people do this. And the more and more we use our phones, that’s how people transfer documents, is through their messaging system rather than through an email or anything. So it’s been used and it’s very popular.”
Anyone with questions about how to use the wireless printing can talk to the staff at the Perry Library. For more information on this and other library topics, listen to yesterday’s and today’s Perry Fareway Let’s Talk Dallas County programs at RaccoonValleyRadio.com.
