The Perry community gathered Wednesday afternoon to welcome the City’s newest restaurant to the Chamber of Commerce, celebrating Tin Pig Tavern with the first ribbon-cutting of 2020.

Members of the Chamber and community alike turned up to get a close-up view of the eatery, located at the corner of 2nd and Warford streets downtown. Chamber Director Lynsi Pasutti got the event started by welcoming everyone and introducing owner David Scheffer. Scheffer then talked about the year-and-a-half remodel of the space, which had previously housed Stitches in Time. He discussed the restaurant’s positive reception in Perry since officially opening in October, and also outlined some of their future plans.

Following that, Scheffer was joined by the crowd outside to cut the ceremonial ribbon, doing the honors himself with the giant scissors. He then took a group of people around the building for a tour. Both Scheffer and Pasutti were happy with the turnout for the event, saying it further showed the good community support the new business has received so far.
