An early Thursday morning fire at Iowa Spring Manufacturing in Adel was extinguished quickly, with no damage or injuries reported.
According to Adel Fire Chief Braden Nemechek, at 12:13 a.m. emergency crews were dispatched to the plant, located on the west side of the City on Greene Street. There were flames and smoke coming from the plant’s dust collector, and firefighters were able to put it out in about 15 minutes. A full crew of third-shift employees were safely evacuated from the 24-hour production facility, and there were no reported injuries. The exact cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Adel Fire Department.
The Dallas Center Fire Department, Adel Police Department, and Dallas County Emergency Medical Services also provided assistance during the incident. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
