A Jefferson resident is ready to take on her new responsibilities as Miss Rodeo Iowa.
Brittany Gunn was crowned Miss Rodeo Iowa 2020 on September 7th. She is excited for her new venture and she says she is looking forward to being an advocate for rodeos and spreading her platform message
“My platform focuses on ‘Lending a helping hand to those that I can.’ Because I want to inspire others that it’s never too late to go after your dreams (and) always follow those dreams. This life that we are given, you only get one, so enjoy every moment and every opportunity you are given.”
With being Miss Rodeo Iowa, Gunn emphasizes the time commitment she has to have with a busy schedule of traveling over 30,000 miles this year.
“You have to be very committed to the title. You can’t just wear a fun crown on your head and look pretty all the time, there’s a lot of work that goes into it. When I’m not working my full time job, I am working as Miss Rodeo Iowa. Many girls will take off the whole year from work and school just to be a rodeo queen. But unfortunately I still have adult responsibilities, so it is a big time commitment.”
Gunn works full time in the Long Term Care Department at Greene County Medical Center. She thanks everyone who supported her quest to become Miss Rodeo Iowa and those who continue to support her as she begins her reign.
