The Jefferson Police Department has released its numbers from the latest special Traffic Enforcement Program (sTEP) Wave through the Governor’s Traffic Safety Bureau.
From December 13th-January 1st, officers issued 58 citations and 293 warnings. The most citations and warnings that were issued were for speeding, with 14 citations and 75 warnings. Other citations that were issued included OWIs, registration violations, driving with a suspended or revoked license, no proof of insurance, driving without a license, stop sign or stop light violations, vehicle equipment violations and others.
Additionally, officers made two felony arrests, one narcotics arrest and assisted six motorists during that same time period. The next sTEP Wave will be during the St. Patrick’s holiday from March 14th-17th. Click the link below to see the full report.
