The Greene County Board of Supervisors met Monday in regular session.
The Board approved the first reading of the dangerous and vicious animal ordinance. The Board heard public comments and made changes to the original draft of the ordinance. The changes that were made included taking out the part about displaying warning signs for dangerous animals and making an adjustment for the penalty section.
The Board then approved soliciting art sculptures to celebrate the Mahanay Memorial Carillon Tower. The solicitation will be handled through a committee with Jefferson Matters: Main Street. Additionally, the Board approved the County Recorder’s report of fees for December as presented and a retirement resolution for Joe Brant for his 23 years of service in the secondary roads department.
The Board also heard a 2021 fiscal year funding request from the Greene County Libraries Association. The group asked for a $3,500 increase in funding. The Board took no action following the request. Finally, the Board heard from the County Sheriff’s Office and the County Environmental Health Administrator’s budget proposals for the 2021 fiscal year. The Board took no action following the proposals.
