Jefferson Police Department Activity Report
For January 3, 4, & 5, 2020

3rd
0113 hrs, Ethan Wiggins reported a couple arguing loudly outside in the 300 Block of North Olive Street. The officer made contact with a female, who advised her boyfriend had just left the area after an argument between them. No assistance was requested from the female.
0231 hrs, Officers assisted the GC ambulance with a Medical call in the 300 Block of North Olive Street.
0533 hrs, Josh Thompson reported a Suspicious couple walking near 222 East Lincoln Way Street. The officer did not locate the reported subjects.
0812 hrs, A subject dropped of a Found Wallet at the LEC. The officer returned the item to the owner.
1007 hrs, City Hall reported a resident paid their water bill with a check from an account that had been closed several years ago. The check had been returned. The officer is investigating.
1323 hrs, An officer assisted the GC Ambulance with a Medical call in the 200 Block of East Gallop Road.
1409 hrs, A caller requested a Welfare Check on a dog left outside with no water ad food at 619 South Olive Street. The animal was inside the residence and was fine when the officer arrived.
1424 hrs, An officer assisted DHS Case Workers with a Home Visit at 1216 Westwood Drive #7.
1550 hrs, The Elks Lodge provided an officer with a license plate on a vehicle who was using their personal trash dumpster at 103 West Harrison Street. They wished for the officer to advise the subject to end this practice, which the officer did.
1623 hrs, Toresa Riggs reported children left in a running vehicle in the parking lot at 777 Wild Rose Lane. The officer located the reported vehicle and spoke to an adult mother waiting in the vehicle with her child. Nothing illegal had occurred.
1715 hrs, James Storesund reported Lost Keys to an officer at the LEC.
1956 hrs, An officer arrested Jason William Sheldahl, 48 of Jefferson during a Traffic Stop on an outstanding Jefferson Police Department Arrest Warrant for, “Violation of Protective Order – Simple.”
2001 hrs, An officer went to 406 East Harrison Street ad arrested Tanisha Kathleen Rice, 44 of Jefferson for an outstanding Jefferson Police Department Arrest Warrant for, “Violation of Protective Order – Simple.”

2033 hrs, Officers located an Open Door at 114 North Wilson Ave. They secured the business after finding all inside to be fine.

0942 hrs, James Wells advised an officer he was the owner of the property at 304 South Elm Street. He had hired subjects to work on the rental, but they were not getting it done to his liking. He requested an officer to tell the subjects they were no longer welcome at the property. The officer made contact with the other party and passed Well’s wishes n to them.
1041 hrs, An officer assisted the GC Ambulance with a Medical Call in the 700 Block of West State Street.
1747 hrs, A caller advised of a possible Intoxicated Driver in a semi in the Jefferson area. The officer later located the vehicle parked at a local business.

0044 hrs, A Traffic Stop at Clark and Elm Streets resulted in Danny Benshoof of Perry being cited for, “Driving While Suspended.”
1042 hrs, Allyn Case requested Extra Patrol near his residence of 502 West Harrison Street.
1128 hrs, Alexis Jordan requested assistance at 104 East Monroe Street, as she had locked herself out of the residence.
1412 hrs, A Traffic Stop at State and Chestnut Streets resulted in Lance Dzuris of Jefferson being cited for, “Operation without Registration.”
1706 hrs, Rachel Phillips requested a Welfare Check on her adult daughter, who may be living in Jefferson. The officer learned the subject lives in Grand Junction and passed the request to the Sheriff’s Office.
1733 hrs, Sparky’s One Stop, located at 606 Hwy. 30 East, reported the Theft of a pair of gloves from the business. They will provide the officer with surveillance footage to further the officer’s investigation.
1833 hrs, Katie Fees requested officers at 307 North Olive Street to remove an unwanted male from the residence. The officers could not make the male leave, as he is also a resident of the apartment. The female chose to leave for the evening and start an Eviction Process on Monday.
2035 hrs, An officer issued a Parking Violation Notice in the 400 Block of South Olive Street for, “Parking Across Sidewalk.”
2207 hrs, Ronnie Pike reported receiving Threatening Messages on Facebook. He was advised to block the subject, or delete his account.
