A perfect 7-0 start for the Dallas Center-Grimes Boys’ Basketball team has been nothing short of impressive, especially following an 8-14 season just a year ago. Tomorrow night, DC-G gets a chance to pick up their eighth win in as many games as they welcome Indianola to Grimes for a Girl/Boy Doubleheader.
Indianola should present a good test for the Mustangs, as the Indians have picked up a number of quality wins, to date, including Pella and Pella Christian.
Indianola has three different players scoring in double figures this season. Senior, Tyce Johnson is averaging over 22 points per game, and gets to the free throw line at a consistent pace. Johnson shoots almost 90% from the charity stripe. AJ Toigo adds in 16 points per game for the Indians, followed by Caden Rehmeier with over a dozen per night. Those three individuals put up a combined 50 points per game for Indianola.
For the Mustangs to escape with a perfect 8-0 record, DC-G’s defense must be top-notch, to slow down the high powered Indian offense.
Game time is set for 6:15pm for the Girls’, with the Boys’ to follow from DC-G High School in Grimes tomorrow night.
