The Greene County Supervisors met Thursday for their organizational meeting of the new year.
During open forum, Greene County Real Estate and Tax Coordinator Pam Olerich presented the 2019 land valuations for the county. She said overall, the county had a 4.26-percent increase in land valuations. The Board took no action following the presentation.
Additionally, County Engineer Wade Weiss had a concern with insurance policies in the Secondary Roads Department. Weiss said an employee was retiring during the calendar year and there was an issue with distributing funds through the employee’s health savings account (HSA). Weiss had a discussion with County Attorney Thomas Laehn about having employees sign a document that if they retire during the calendar year, that a portion of the contribution to an HSA would be pro-rated back to the county. The Board took no action on the concern.
The Board then approved the December 31, 2019 cash count as presented and the County Auditor’s quarterly passport report for October through December as presented. Finally, the Board set Mondays at 8:30am in the boardroom of the Greene County Courthouse as the regular Supervisor meetings. All county committees, depositories and county holidays were also approved.
