The City of Bayard is seeking a new Council member, following Council member Tom Wardyn’s election as Mayor.
Those interested in being appointed to the Council must submit a letter of interest to City Hall by noon on Wednesday, January 8th. The Council then expects to appoint a successor at their regular meeting on Monday, January 13th. The successor’s term would last until 2021. Residents also have the right to petition for a special election, requiring a petition signed by 15% of those who voted in the last regular election, but no less than 10 signatures.
