Dallas County Hospital and 21st Century Rehab are continuing their series in addressing common types of pain, with the next event to be held Tuesday, January 7th.

Rehabilitation Director Clint Lutterman says the focus for the coming workshop is shoulder pain, which is a frequent affliction for people of all ages. He emphasizes that the program is free to attend and they won’t try to sell anyone on seeking physical therapy. Instead, he says their goal is simply to educate. “We just think it’s important, for people to understand their options when they have pain. I think a lot of people just deal with it, they think, ‘Ah, it’s just there, I’m just going to deal with it.’ And we’ve seen that over the years. So that’s part of the reason, just to increase awareness of what we can do to help. It’s a great way for us to interact and (get) involved with the community, we like to be part of the community, and we think that’s an important thing for us to do.”

The workshop will be held Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. in the 21st Century Rehab offices at the hospital, and refreshments will be provided. Registration is required to attend, and can be done by contacting Dallas County Hospital at 515-465-3547 or the rehab clinic at 515-465-7672.
