Adults who are looking to make changes to their overall fitness and nutrition, but need a little help to do it in the new year, can do so with a program in Jefferson.

Jefferson Parks and Recreation Department is teaming up with Greene County Medical Center to sponsor the 2020 Lifestyle Challenge. JPRD Assistant Director Nathan Kral says the nine-week program starts January 3rd.  Participants will weigh-in each Friday from 6:30-9am or 3:30-5:30pm at the Greene County Community Center. The program is for teams of 2-6 people and you don’t need to be a community center member to participate. However, Kral points out, if you are a member, you will be able to use the fitness and weight equipment.

Kral says they will keep track of weight loss and body fat percentages. Participants will also receive stress management classes and instructor led fitness classes, along with workout of the week tips, health and wellness information, healthy recipes and give-aways throughout the program. The fee is $40 per person or $30 through an employer. Application forms can be found below.
