As we start the new year, residents of Perry are reminded it’s time to renew pet licenses and Dog Park permits.
Assistant Perry Parks and Recreation Director Becky Halling says anyone living in City limits with cats or dogs over six months old needs to obtain or renew a license for each animal. The cost for licenses is $5 for altered animals, and $20 for non-altered. The deadline is January 31st, and there is a $5 fee for any pets licensed after that date. Owners must show proof of rabies vaccination when obtaining their licenses.
As for the Dog Park permits, Halling says they cost $20 for a yearlong pass for the first dog, and $10 for additional ones, with a maximum of three. You can also get daily passes for $2 per animal. The dogs must have valid licenses in order to get access to the park. Licenses and Dog Park passes can be purchased at the McCreary Community Building during normal business hours.
