A growing trend for high school football players is to graduate early and enroll in January at the college they’ve chosen to continue their careers. Greene County’s Tyler Miller has taken that path. The 6′ 9″, 290 lbs. offensive lineman has graduated from high school and soon will be enrolling at Iowa State University, taking part in the Cyclones’ off-season conditioning program, followed by Spring football.

Caden Duncan is the head coach of the Rams and he talks about Miller. “People don’t understand how strong he is because he is so long. They look at him and wonder how strong he is– Tyler’s extremely strong. He’s one of the hardest working guys we had in the weight room and one of the strongest guys at pretty much every exercise we did. The way he can bend is unbelievable at 6′ 9″. He’s a guy that before he’s done could be up around 400 lbs. and he’s still going to look fit because he’s just so lanky and has long arms. I think that’s what makes him so attractive to the Iowa State coaches.”

Miller anchored both the offensive and defensive lines for the Rams as they went 17-4 the past two seasons and qualified for the Class 2A playoffs in both 2018 and ’19.
