The West Central Valley Wildcats football team will be dealing with some new rules from the state of Iowa for timing in football games for teams that are involved in a blowout.
Allow the game clock to continuously run any time the scoring margin reaches 35 points or more, unless previously implemented exceptions (injury, score, timeout, score falls back under 35-point margin, etc.) occur. Previously, the continuous clock only began running during a margin of 35 points or more in the second half.
West Central Valley participated in a few games this year where the score got above the 35 points threshold for a turbo clock, and it’s something that could make football games potentially quicker in the 2020 football season.
