The 40th annual Bell Tower Festival in Jefferson continues its positivity with a recent announcement about funding.

Next year’s event chair Philip Heisterkamp told the Greene County Supervisors at a recent meeting, the festival made $13,000 in profits. He said all expenses were paid upfront the Friday of the festival, leaving Saturday to garner profits. Heisterkamp noted the biggest impact was the open concept, utilizing the downtown square for those 21 and over to consume alcohol, instead of having a smaller designated area.

As plans for the 41st Bell Tower Festival are underway, Jefferson Area Chamber Board Secretary Jill Morton invites anyone to be a part of the planning.

“If they are interested in volunteering to be on the committee, they’re welcome to call the Chamber and give their information so we can have someone get back to them. And also volunteers for the festival, we’re always ready to write names down for that.”

Heisterkamp added, the goal of the festival is to be financially self-sustaining, but they are still relying heavily on donations.
