Springbrook State Park in Guthrie Center is kicking off 2020 and the 100th anniversary of the Iowa state park system with an event next week.

Springbrook staff and the Friends group are hosting a First Day Hike on New Year’s Day next Wednesday at 9 a.m. This is a free event, and participants can meet at the park house/office for a two to three mile hike led by park staff. The group can then enjoy hot chocolate and cookies afterwards. This is the ninth year for First Day Hikes at Iowa state parks.
