An Adel native was recently granted the title of Miss Iowa Agriculture, and will compete in the national competition this coming June.

The state crown was awarded to 20-year-old Alexis Stine, a graduate of Adel-DeSoto-Minburn High School and current student at Iowa State University. She was raised on a feeder-to-finish hog farm and row crop operation in Adel, and is studying animal science and agricultural business at college. She plans to graduate in 2021 and then continue her family’s five-generation agricultural tradition. Prior to earning the state title, Stine was the Story County representative for the last year. As Miss Iowa Agriculture, her platform is entitled “Growing the Next Generation,” focusing on agricultural education for children and families.

She will compete in the Miss United States Agriculture National Pageant on June 19th and 20th in Orlando, Florida.
