Friday, December 20th
1:04pm: An officer assisted a DHS Case Worker with a Home Visit at 502 North Vine Street.
2:58pm: Amelia Kennedy reported a subject involved in a criminal case is attempting to contact her juvenile son, who is also involved in the matter. The office advised both parties to end contact with the other.
3:49pm: Mark Esterday reported what he felt was a Violation of a No Contact Order. The officer determined a violation had not occurred.
4:32pm: Steve Scheff reported a vehicle parked and blocking the alley in the 300 Block of North Wilson Ave. The vehicle had been removed before the officer arrived.
5:00pm: A Traffic Stop at 220th and Mulberry Streets resulted in Anthony McCain of Jefferson being cited for, “Operation without Registration, Fail to Provide Proof of Financial Liability, and Fail to Have a Valid Driver’s License.”
5:13pm: An officer covered a Car vs. Deer Accident in the 1300 Block of Lincoln Way Street. A 2018 Honda Pilot, owned and operated by Carrie Jo Peters of Jefferson, was westbound in the 1300 Block of West Lincoln Way Street when she struck a deer. The injured deer fled from the area. The officer estimated damages to the front of the Peters’ vehicle at $1000.00.
6:39pm: An officer responded the GC High School, located at 100 Ram Drive for a Fire Alarm Activation. No fire or smoke was located in the structure.
9:14pm: Melvin Palmer reported kids were ringing his doorbell and running away. He advised he had a juvenile there he had caught in the act. The officer warned the youngster about facing a Trespass Charge before releasing him.
10:56pm: An officer performed a Traffic Stop at 508 North Elm Street with a vehicle, which had crossed the centerline while navigating a turn onto Elm Street from Washington Street. The officer’s investigation led to the arrest of Dennis Ray Hagen, 60 of Jefferson for, “OWI 2nd Offense – Aggravated, and Turning at Intersection Violation – Simple.”
11:11pm: An officer performed a Traffic Stop at Elm and Clark Streets with a Speeding Vehicle. During the stop, the officer noticed the strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. During a Probable Cause Search of the vehicle, the officer located numerous narcotic related items, prescription medications, and suspected marijuana and wax marijuana. The items were seized for lab testing with charges pending results. Christopher David Spaulding of Jefferson was issued a Citation for, “Excessive Speed.”
Saturday, December 21st
9:04am: Numerous recent reports have been called in concerning the Publisher’s Clearing House Scam. The scammers are utilizing mail and phone calls to advise you of winnings. They ask for a sum of money to claim the prize. The legitimate Publishers Clearing House will not request money to claim a prize.
11:06am: An officer assisted a motorist at 508 North Elm Street by unlocking a vehicle with a dog locked inside.
11:21am: A Traffic Stop at Lincoln Way and Elm Streets resulted in Elizabeth Fischels of Webster City being cited for, “Fail to Obey Stop Sign.”
3:41pm: A Traffic Stop in the 700 Block of north Elm Street resulted in Andres Tejeda Perez of Webster City being cited for, “Fail to Have a Valid Driver’s License and Excessive Speed.”
4:36pm: Heather Pearson called and spoke to an officer about local resources available to help her with her juvenile son’s behavior issues.
5:18pm: Austin Larkey reported a Careless Driver on 220 th Street, heading east towards Jefferson. The vehicle was not located.
7:01pm: A male subject came to the LEC and advised of receiving Harassing Text Messages from a Jefferson male. The officers contacted the male and advised him to end the unwanted contact with the subject.
8:50pm: Scott Carroll reported Criminal Mischief to a retaining wall at 513 South Chestnut Street. The damage had occurred overnight. The officer is investigating.
Sunday, December 22nd
1:18am: An officer located two unsecured storage units at 1503 North Elm Street. The officer checked and found the units to be unused and empty.
9:30am: Officers assisted the GC Ambulance with a Medical Call in the 1000 Block of West Adams Street.
10:00am: An officer issued a Parking Violation Notice in the 300 Block of West Adams Street for, “Parked Facing Wrong Direction.”
1:43pm: A Traffic Stop in the 900 Block of North Cedar Street resulted in Kirby Gathercoal of Grand Junction being cited for, “Excessive Speed.”
3:49pm: A Traffic Stop at Elm and Head Streets resulted in Russell Fulton of Ames being cited for, “Operation without Registration.”
4:18pm: A Traffic Stop at Sunset and Southfield resulted in Eric Chrystal of Jefferson being cited for, “Fail to Provide Proof of Financial Liability and Operation without Registration.”
5:34pm: Austin Davidson reported unknown subjects had possibly been inside his residence at 507 West State Street.
11:03pm: Benjamin Camp reported a Suspicious Male walking around Shelter Stor-All at 408 E. Hwy. 30. The officer did not locate anyone in the area.
