A single vehicle wreck along I-80 in Adair County Sunday afternoon sent one person to the hospital with expected non life-threatening injuries.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, at around 2:10 p.m. a 2015 Ford F150 pickup truck driven by 44-year-old Friderich Goldschagg of South Africa was travelling in the westbound lanes of the interstate at mile marker 89. According to witnesses, he suddenly veered across the right lane from the left lane and entered the ditch. The truck came to rest after striking a tree. The State Patrol says it appeared Goldschagg was having a medical issue at the time of the incident, which likely led to the erratic driving.
He was taken by Adair County Fire and Rescue to Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, and his current condition is unknown. He was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the wreck. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
