A brief school board meeting wrapped up the end of 2019 for the West Central Valley School District Wednesday.
The meeting began with approval of resignations of a food service employee and the high school girls softball coach, and new contracts for the high school girls head and assistant soccer coaches. They also approved two open enrollment requests into the district from Nodaway Valley. They then approved an adjusted modified allowable growth request to the School Budget Review Committee, which was initially approved in November. The amount increased due to changes in their certified enrollment of 18.6 students who were included in the actual enrollment number for fall 2019 but weren’t on the actual enrollment for fall 2018. This increased the request from about $125,289 to $145,497 of additional spending authority. Finally, the Board approved this year’s outgoing special education student contracts, and discussed a possible paving project of the athletic complex parking lot.
