An Odebolt man was arrested and faces multiple charges following a vehicle pursuit in Jefferson.

According to the Jefferson Police Department, an officer attempted to stop a speeding vehicle at 9:11pm Thursday in the 700 block of North Elm Street. However, the vehicle did not stop and continued traveling north on Highway 4 through Jefferson. The vehicle then ran a posted stop sign on Highway 30 before heading east. The officer followed in pursuit of the suspect, reaching speeds of 96-miles-per-hour. Another Jefferson Police Officer and Greene and Boone County Sheriff’s Deputies joined in the chase until the suspect’s vehicle crossed the centerline of the highway and entered the north shoulder before coming to a stop in Boone County between B and C avenues.

Following the incident, officers arrested Jordan Collins and charged him with aggravated misdemeanors for eluding with speeds of 25 or over and operating a vehicle without owner’s consent, a serious misdemeanor for his first offense for an OWI, and simple misdemeanors for reckless driving, failure to obey a stop sign, driving with a suspended license, driving on the wrong side of a two way highway, failure to provide proof of financial liability, two counts of excessive speeding, and insufficient number of headlamps.

Collins was booked into the Greene County Jail. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
