Greene County hosts Coon Rapids-Bayard, Nevada, and Saydel (Des Moines) in the middle school gym in a high school wrestling quadrangular tonight starting at six o’clock. The match with CR-B is non-conference while the other two are Heart of Iowa Activities Conference matches. Zach Beekman’s Rams are 7-3 in dual meets and tonight’s action will be the final dual meets in December for Greene County. The Rams end the December portion of the schedule on Saturday at the Tiger-Knight Invitational at Carroll High.
Freshman McKinley Robbins at 106 lbs. has his varsity career off to a 12-1 start. The only loss is to the top rated Class 2A wrestler, and among his victories are his last match on Saturday at the Ogden dual meet tournament over Cole Nelson of Humboldt, ranked number three at the time. Robbins started the season unranked, but is third by IA Wrestle, and is expected to appear in The Predicament top 10 when they come out later today.
