The Dallas County Board of Supervisors convened Tuesday morning for the final time of 2019.

The meeting began with updates from Gary Brons with McClure Engineering on the City of Adel’s east annex sewer extension and water main project, as well as the Ortonville Lagoon demolition. Brons said the sewer services to the new law enforcement center are ready to go, and they’ll have bid documents ready to review in January for the lagoon project. Next there were several topics involving the Secondary Roads Department. First, the Board approved the transfer of seven pieces of Integrated Roadside Vegetation Management (IRVM) harvest equipment to Winneshiek County.

They then got an update on the progress of road projects from this past year and looked ahead to 2020 projects, and viewed the initial options for relocating the Engineer’s Office to the Central Maintenance Site. The Supervisors also approved a no spray agreement with the City of Dallas Center and a request for out-of-state travel. Other items approved included: a fire and emergency medical services mutual assistance 28E agreement; a refugee admission consent request; and Board appointments for Conservation, Health, Des Moines Township Trustees, and Compensation.

There will be no meetings the next two Tuesdays due to the holidays, with the next regular session scheduled for Thursday, January 2, 2020.
