Individuals hoping to become the next President of the United States continue to increase their presence in the state ahead of the Iowa Caucuses in February, and one of the candidates will be visiting Perry Sunday afternoon.
South Bend, Indiana Mayor Pete Buttegieg will include Dallas County on his upcoming trip through Central Iowa, holding a town hall event at the McCreary Community Building. This will be his second visit to the County since declaring his intention to seek the Democratic nomination for President, though it will be his first public appearance in the area. Doors will open at 2 p.m. Sunday, with the event scheduled to start at 2:30. RSVPs are recommended and can be made by clicking the link below.
Buttegieg is one of 15 candidates vying for the Democratic nomination for President of the United States in the June 2020 primary election, and the right to oppose incumbent Republican Donald Trump. He’ll also be one of three to visit Dallas County this weekend, with New Jersey Senator Cory Booker to appear in Adel Friday morning and former Vice President Joe Biden coming to Perry Sunday evening.
