A fatal single-vehicle wreck occurred in Adair County Wednesday afternoon.

According to Iowa State Patrol, at about 4:41 p.m. 26-year-old Brian John Clymer of Colfax was driving a Chevy S10 pickup truck eastbound on Interstate 80 at mile marker 74. For an unknown reason he left the roadway to the left, went through the median before striking the cable barrier and overturned, coming to a rest in the left lane of westbound I-80. Clymer was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. There were no other passengers. Adair Rescue assisted at the scene. The incident remains under investigation.
