A Stuart felon was recently sentenced for possessing a weapon in Adair County.
Court records show that 44-year-old Scott William Richard Funke pleaded guilty to one count of control of a firearm by a domestic abuse offender, a class D felony, and possession of methamphetamine, a serious misdemeanor. Funke was given a suspended prison sentence of five years for the felony and was sentenced to one year in jail for the misdemeanor, with the sentences to be served concurrently. He was given a suspended $750 fine, and ordered to pay about $500 for a fine and surcharge.
The charges stemmed from a July 14th incident in which Adair County Sheriff’s Deputies executed a search warrant at his home. Funke showed the deputies drug paraphernalia in his garage, where a baggie of meth was found as well as a revolver firearm with 36 rounds of ammunition in a safe inside his vehicle. Funke has not yet been sentenced for other charges involved in this case. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
