The ADM Lady Tigers basketball team picked up their first win in Raccoon River Conference on Friday Night as they defeated the Winterset Lady Huskies by the score of 76-41. The Lady Tigers had a pair of great performances from their seniors as Abbie Hlas had a massive game with a 30 point performance and Delaney Bertman also chipped in with 15 points. The Lady Tigers only led by 39-30 at the break, but dominated in the second half, and were able to put away the game early.
The Tigers almost pulled off one of the wildest comebacks in school history after trailing by 22 points with just over four minutes to go, made a furious rally to comeback, but fell short by the score of 71-69. Winterset had control of the game throughout most of the contest, leading 64-42 near the end of the game. That’s when ADM started their comeback hitting shot after shot and forcing multiple turnovers on Winterset. ADM had three different looks to tie or take the lead in the last 10 seconds but were unable to make any of them, as Winterset barely hung on.
Despite falling, ADM showed a lot of heart and fight at the end of the game, which is something that they will look to build off of going forward.
