New Board members were sworn in and officers were elected at the recent Panorama School Board meeting.

Deborah Westergaard, Damon Crandall, and Lila Lutz were sworn in, and Westergaard and Deb Douglass were elected as president and vice president, respectively. The Board also reviewed the early retirement incentive plan, which has no changes from last year, and they reviewed the five-year Physical Plant and Equipment Levy (PPEL) and Secure an Advanced Vision for Education (SAVE) fund project plan. Besides continued roof repairs at the secondary building, Superintendent Shawn Holloway shares the Board’s priorities, “There will be a bus purchase this summer. So we purchase a bus every other school year and that’ll be a fairly large ticket item. Retrofitting our other route buses with seat belts I think is another priority. Inside the buildings – elementary library space – we’re going to do a makeover of that – new carpets, new furniture. And there’s a couple bathrooms in the secondary building that we plan to refinish as well.”

Holloway expects the Board to take action on the plan in the next couple months. The Board also reviewed Forecast Five budget projections for an assumed enrollment decrease of 20 students in fiscal years 2023 and 2024. They also approved the first reading of several revised Board policies, adopted a revised wellness policy, approved overnight trip requests as presented, and the 2020 potential graduate list.
