For the last several months, the City of Adel has been partnering with a planning and development class at Iowa State University to assess the strengths and needs of the City’s historic square. The initial results are now in and ready for the public to view in an open forum.
On Tuesday, December 17th, City staff will be joined by the Adel Partners Chamber of Commerce and ISU students to host a presentation on the proposed plans for the downtown area. The event will run from 6-7 p.m. and will be held in the community room at the Adel Public Library. It’s free and open to the public, and attendees are encouraged to stay for the full hour. City staff points out that the downtown plan is in no way a done deal, and it also wouldn’t come to fruition for several more years. However, they feel it’s important to get input from the community on such a large and important project, so they encourage everyone to attend.
