Both varsity basketball teams from AC/GC made the trip to Urbandale for a double-header against Des Moines Christian.

The girl’s team began the night and came out on fire. The Chargers jumped out to a quick lead and ended the first quarter with a 14-11 lead. Unfortunately, AC/GC couldn’t keep the momentum rolling and were held to just three points in the second quarter. The Lions came out of the halftime break with a 23-17 advantage and found their shot. Des Moines Christian hit five of six three pointers in the third quarter and were able to run away with the game 62-39. AC/GC drops to 1-2 on the season.

The boy’s team took the court next and flexed their defensive muscles early on. They limited a potent Lion offense to just nine points in the first eight minutes. AC/GC entered the halftime break down five points with a score of 32-27. The Lions separated themselves with an 18-point fourth quarter and won the game 59-48. The Chargers fall to 0-2 on the young season.
