A Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate will be making a campaign stop in Greene County this week.

Retired U.S. Navy Vice Admiral Mike Franken will be at the home of Gary and Mary Weaver for a House Party event Thursday at 5pm. Attendees will get to hear Franken’s views, learn about why he is running for the U.S. Senate and can ask questions at the end. Franken will be running for the Democratic nomination for U.S. Senate in the June primary against three other candidates. Sources say Theresa Greenfield, Eddie Mauro and Kimberly Graham are also running on the Democrat ticket.

The event is free and open to the public with refreshments served. The Weavers live at 1805 B Avenue in Rippey.
