The Adel City Council will convene tonight in regular session.
The meeting will start with the oath of office for Mayor Jim Peters and re-elected Council members Shirley McAdon, Dan Miller, and Bob Ockerman. That will be followed by the presentation of a certificate of appreciation to Library Director Paula James for 20 years of service. During open forum, three Adel residents will present a letter they submitted to the City. In new business, the Council will have discussion and possible action regarding the draft of an ordinance to regulate the use of ATVs within City limits, followed by consideration of the proposed sign for United Brick and Tile.
Next, they will consider approval of reallocating local option sales tax funds to the new Southbridge Park for spring 2020 construction. Following that, the Council will consider a series of resolutions, including: authorizing the City to submit an application for a Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) grant; the continuation of a 28E agreement with the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn School District for the school resource officer program; and approving the issuance of $6 million in sewer revenue capital loan notes. Other items on the agenda include: accepting the bid packages and pay estimates for the lift station, sanitary sewer, and force main projects; an ordinance for the Southbridge Urban Renewal Area and the first amendment to a private development agreement with Cramer and Associates; and budget transfers for Government Accounting Standards Board (GASB) consolidation.
The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. tonight in the Council Chambers at Adel City Hall.
