The Raccoon Valley Radio Caring Christmas Food Drive hits a very busy week of live broadcasts in a number of locations.

The active week will start on Tuesday at Winterset Fareway from 3-5pm, sponsored by H&R Block. Then on Wednesday a live broadcast will take place at Hometown Foods in Stuart from 11am-1pm and again from the Adel Fareway from 3-5pm. Thursday there are two live broadcasts from 4-6pm, at Perry Fareway and Hometown Foods in Panora. Friday brings two more live broadcasts with Earlham Building Center from 2-4pm and at the Waukee Fareway from 4-6pm. Saturday rounds out the weekly broadcasts, with Peoples Bank in Waukee from 9-11am, followed by Winterset Hy-Vee from noon-2pm.

Raccoon Valley Radio General Manager John McGee says any food that is donated during the live broadcasts will stay with the respective community’s food pantry.

“We’ve got a great working relationship with the food shelves. We’re able to make those deliveries a lot of times right as we leave the grocery store. We’re gathering the food, we’re taking the donations from the public, we then take it right to the food pantries and they get it out there in the hands of those who need it.”

Anyone who makes a non-perishable food or monetary donation during a live broadcast will be automatically entered into the $1,000 Christmas Cash Giveaway drawing, with the winner announced December 20th. You can also participate in the Daily Christmas Cash Call promotion.
