The pool of candidates vying for the Democratic nomination for President of the United States has shrunk in recent weeks, but one individual still in the race will be visiting Perry Monday.
Marianne Williamson, a self-help author and new age lecturer from California, will hold a meet and greet at Common Wealth Provisions sandwich shop at 11 a.m. Monday. The Perry Area Democrats are hosting the event, which is free and open to the public and RSVPs are not required. The community is invited to learn more about the candidate and her ideas for the country if elected President in the 2020 general election.
Williamson is one of 15 Democrats still in the running for the party’s nomination in the June primary election. Like the other candidates, she is hoping to do well in the upcoming Iowa Caucuses, which historically have gone a long way towards deciding the field for President in November. Anyone with questions about the meet and greet can contact Perry Area Democrats Chairperson Monica Peitz at 515-465-9882.
